Earth movements​

Rotation: The Earth spins on its axis like a top.  The Earth takes 24 hours to rotate one full circle.

Revolution: The Earth moves around the sun. It takes 365 days to make one complete circle of the sun.

Day: The part of the Earth facing the sun receives sunlight .

Night: The part of the Earth that receives no light is in shadow.

Seasons: One part of the Earth receives the light and heat of the Sun with greater intensity as it orbits the Sun. In this ares it is summer ( from June to September). In summer it is hotter and the days are longer.

Another part of the Earth receives the light and heat of the Sun with less intensity. This is winter (from December to March) . In winter it is colder and the days are shorter.

There are two intermediate seasons, autumn (from  September to December) and spring ( from March to June).
