What's an ecosystem?

An ECOSYSTEM is a community of living things that interact with each other and their habitat.

TYPES:

 

 

Examples:

  • Tundra : The tundra biome is at the top of the world -- around the North Pole. Below a thin layer of tundra soil is a permanently frozen layer of ground. During the brief summers, the top section of the soil may thaw just long enough to allow plants and microorganisms to grow and reproduce.    

  • Forest : A dense growth of trees, plants covering a large area. It rains a lot .
  • ​Desert :   Arid land with usually sparse vegetation.
  • Sea : A great body of salt water that covers much of the earth.
  • Jungle : An impenetrable thicket or tangled mass of tropical vegetation.
  • Arctic : Life in the Arctic includes organisms living in the ice, zooplankton and phytoplankton, fish and marine mammals, birds, land animals, plants, and human societies.
