There are eight planets in the Solar System.The way they follow round the Sun is called Orbit. The orbit is not a circle it's an ellipse.

Circling close to the Sun there are four small rocky planets : Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.

Further out are four giants made largely of gas : Jupiter , Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Pluto is further out still.
